2017-18 Re-Verification Information

CJP will continue to provide checks towards a child’s subsequent two years of tuition for families who receive and use a CJP Discover Day School (DDS) Check, provided the family continues to meet eligibility criteria. Families will be required to submit updated applications for the subsequent two grades.

To receive your 2017-2018 DDS check, you must continue to meet the eligibility requirements for the program:

    • Family adjusted gross income remains within the program requirements, as confirmed by your 2016 IRS Form 1040.
    • Your family continues to opt for the Discover Day School Check over school based financial assistance. This requirement includes not accepting financial assistance from your school for any additional children in your family who may attend in 2017-2018.*

You will receive a 2017-2018 Verification of Eligibility Form via email in spring that will be due by May 2, 2017. This form will request a copy of your filed 2016 IRS 1040 and confirmation that your family will not be accepting any school based financial assistance.

*Note: We suggest that you consider applying for school based financial assistance if your financial situation has changed or if you plan to send additional children to day school next year. It is possible that a school based financial assistance award for 2017-2018 will be more generous than the value of your Discover Day School Check. Please be in touch with your school’s business office for details regarding financial assistance application and timing.

Fast facts

In a world of increasing fragmentation and alienation, a Jewish day school education can give a child the precious assets of life long identity and friendship.

Differentiated instruction

Often referred to as an educational philosophy, differentiated instruction is viewed as a proactive approach to instruction. This approach requires teachers to tailor their instruction and adjust the curriculum to students’ needs rather than expecting students to modify themselves to fit the curriculum.
